What ever you do, do not just stop showing up. You may need this employer as a reference on your next job.
If you have a minimum wage type of job go up to your supervisor and tell him that you will be leaving (quiting) in two weeks from a certain date. That gives them time to hire and train someone to take your position.
If you have a professional job it should be done in writing to your supervisor.

I recently had a problem with this myself.
If you quit you can not collect unemployment. But don't do or say anything bad so to get fired, because that will go into your employment file, and that file stays with a company until it is transfered to the next company you work for. You have a right to see that file. I have never seen mine, I requested it once and was told it was at the corporate office in another state.
Just simply set up a meeting with a manager. Express your concerns. And see if they will let you go, "mutual agreement". That is mostly likely what will happen. Then reason for separation is "mutual agreement". As far as I know that is best. But if they still want you to stay, and they may change things you are uncomfortable with or offer you more money, then you can quit if you want to; or let them know the last time and day you are willing to work.
Ask your supervisor who you need to talk to about it; you can insist upon talking to a manager at any time, and if they don't let you do that, you can quit that second, if things are really so bad.

Whatever you do, make sure you give your employer a respectable amount of notice before leaving. You can tell your immediate supervisor, they probably have authority to take your resignation, but may have some form or something for you to fill out. If you are asked why you are leaving, and don't want to be talked into staying, just say that you feel that there are is nothing else for you to learn from this position, and feel like it is time to move on. Also, thank them for giving you the job.

First of all make sure you have a new job to go to.Than tell them you had an offer from another Company you couldn't refuse. If they ask who? tell them the other Company wishes to remain anonymous. You really don't have to answer them tho.It would be in your benefit to also write a letter and Thank them for employment with them.Good karma in case you need to be hired back.

Just tell him (Only men can be bosses) that you will plunder his store of all it's goods and make him walk the plank unless he let's you quit immediatly. Don't bother with any notice or any of that junk. Just quit, and make it a violent angry one! Yo ho!
