My dentist once told me that she thought it a good idea on occassion, she would even give it with mouthwash after treatments. But she didn't think it should be done regularly (swooshing) as it may cause harm to the soft tissues of the mouth.

Soaking your toothbrush in it prior to use several times per week may be just as beneficial and less risky, maybe.

HI,
YOU CAN SWISH WITH A 50/50 MIX OF PEROXIDE AND WATER FOR 30 SECONDS - JUST DON'T SWALLOW.
THIS IS NOT DANGEROUS TO GUMS OR TOOTH ENAMEL, AND IT WILL KILL BACTERIA. MAKE SURE YOU MIX THE PEROXIDE FRESH EACH TIME OR YOU WILL DEACTIVATE THE PEROXIDE.

When I was a kid my Mom had me use peroxide to rinse my mouth a couple of times. From this experience I can tell you it is safe to rinse but don't swallow too much.

Not too great if you swallow but try to mix it half and half with mouthwash! you can also make a paste with peroxide and baking soda and brush like normal and this helps to remove stains without abrasives- just do not swallow!

It says right on the bottle ( the one I have anyway) that you can use as a mouth wash. As long as you dont swallow it there is nothing wrong with it.

As long as you don't swallow it. When I was pregnant, the dentist told me to swish with it for my gum health. I also use it to clean the toothbrushes in the house once a week!

yes it is, but only after awhile. the peroxide, although whitening your teeth, also breaks down your tooth enamel, making your teeth sensitive and susceptible to cavaties.

I wouldn't swish anything that's not labled as mouthwash, why take the risk?
