Don't worry about it. Your dreams come from your brain, not from some ghost or spirit or anything. You have little to no control over them, and there is no meaning to them other than what you attribute. They're your brains message to itself.

Consider the Universal Law of Attraction, Obviously you want no more to do with this guy. If you still think about him (especially in negative ways) it will still bother you on a subconsious level, which may torment you by having dreams about this person.

It is best to tell yourself that you forgive the other person, and let go of the past and the emotions associated with that.
Meanwhile focus on what YOU WANT using the affirmative. You will dream about more pleasant things and life will be better in general

According to Dreamcrowd:

To see your friends in your dream, signifies aspects of your personality that you have rejected, but are ready to integrate these rejected part of yourself. The relationships you have with those around you are important in learning about yourself. Additionally, this symbol foretells of happy tidings from them and the arrival of good news. To see your childhood friend in your dream, signifies regression into your past where you had no responsibilities and things were much simpler and carefree.You may be wanting to escape the the pressures and stresses of adulthood. Consider the relationship you had with this friend and the lessons that were learned. Alternatively, the childhood friend may be suggesting that you have been acting in a childish manner and you need to start acting like an adult. To dream that your best friend is dying, suggests that some aspect or quality that your best friend possess is dying within your own self.

If you are female and dream that you see or are a boy, then it indicates that you are developing the masculine aspects of character. Alternatively, it may represent your feelings about a real-life boy who is important and significant to you. You may have a crush on this boy and your waking thoughts of him has carried over into the dream world. Your motherly instincts may be taking over. If you are an adult male and dream that you see or are a boy, then it suggests your playful, innocent, childlike nature. Alternatively, it can symbolize the immature aspects of yourself that still needs to grow. Your inner child may be trying to draw your attention to parts of yourself that you need to recognize and acknowledge.

Alot depends on what kind of conversation you were having, whether you were pleased to meet him, whether he looked handsome, healthy, etc...
Otherwise, below are some loose quotes from a dream interpretation book I own;
- 'For a friend to visit you, denotes that news of a favourable nature will soon reach you. If the friend appears sad and travel worn...slight disappointments may follow'.
- 'For a woman to dream of a bachelor, denotes a relationship born of immoral love'.
- 'For a woman to dream of a man, if handsome, denotes that she will enjoy life vastly, have distinction offered her, and come into rich possessions. If he is ugly, she will experience trouble through someone whom she considers a friend - meeting disappointments and being involved in many perplexities'.

Deep down, some part of you likes him. You probably saw or heard something that consiously or sub-consiously reminded you of him and that is why you dreamed of him. I would say just not to worry about it. It was only dreams.

The dream most likely has nothing to do with him at all. It is probably something in your life that subconsciously gives you the same heeby-geebies that he did. Look at other areas in your life.

No, it probably doesn't mean anything, but if it really bugs you, maybe you should just call him up every now and then to see how he's doing.

You secretly want his man meat in your grand canyon. It's ok though, that's the American way.

you'll probably run into him soon, that's usually what happens when I dream of someone I haven't seen in a while.
