Jesus says the end of the world will include people coming, saying they are Jesus, but it will not be true. This has not happened, so the end is not near, right? And what about spreading the Word to all nations? That has not happened either.

With technology as it is, we are getting closer,....as for "other Jesus's"....news has reported many whom claim to be "Jesus"....

Countries in conflict with one another is old news, but, in 1984 Saddam Hussein started rebuilding Nebuchadnezzars city.... and search is on for his original statue, but, if can't be found, a new one errected...

Religions arising everywhere about everything, yet, in the times of the Bible it was same...satan has his followers, God and Jesus do too... Spirits everywhere flaunting God and one Holy Spirit keeping them in check...

Rich men, poor men, beggarman and thief...same ole same ole..laws of man overriding laws of God...same ole, same ole...churches splitting, Believers having church at home, and men of science claiming there is no God....same ole, same ole...

Weapons of destruction getting bigger every day...yet it's the air borne weapons as small as a speck of dust that finds the most victims...and hate grows from the germs of ideas... same ole, same ole...

I look around me and listen to the news, read the Bible and ask God what to do... same ole, same ole... Fight the good fight every day....love those whom curse you and forgive in every way...council and instruct the babes in Christ and those seeking the way... same ole, same ole...

All I can say is...we're closer now then they were then...

God Bless, and forgive my rant all :)

Well if you look at it, there have been many false prophets. Everyone that says they speak to God and then ask for your money, which has been going on for a long time. But in the Bible it did not give specific amount of years this would happen, so maybe we are there. But at the same time we may not. Then again, so many interputations, hard to keep up, lots of ppl see it different ways. If you include todays war, then what about the crusades? To many ppl in power perverse religion to their own purposes, and many ppl follow along thinking this is a sign. Some of you all need to wake up, quit reading Revelations, and reread the bible, Jesus didn't hate anyone, even those he disagreed with.

Answering Scott M's point -

"This Generation" could refer to the generation that is alive at the time the end times events commence.

The Greek word "Yenea" translated as Generation could also be translated as "race" meaning the human race will not pass away until after all these events have unfolded.

It can also be translated as "age" meaning the church age which was being ushered in by Christ will not pass away until everything is fulfilled, so there are at least 3 ways Jesus' prophecy could come true and all those ways are compatible with each other so they could all come true.

First let me say there is no one who know the time that Jesus will come St.Matthew 24:36 and Revelation1:3.If you know him as your personal Savior then you will not be here when the anti-christ comes Rev.13:4 , Jude 1:5 Look at the fact we have people on T.v. and people from Church's going over seas to spread the Word Of God.So yes is getting to be world wide .God could come at anytime for His people .

It has happened and is happening. Matraya is saying he is the return of Jesus.A very scary individual indeed! There have been more including David Koresh. There are not too many places that don't have sattelite and can watch TBN and other religious sites.Radio also is even more into the ends of the earth.
Don't be in denial. The end is nearer now.Just get on the right side and you'll be fine.As they say about the Rapture,"Get right or get left".(behind that is)I Thessalonians 4 tells about the rapture.Believe it !

Matthew 24:14  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Have ALL the nations heard the Gospel?

Consider China, many remote villages throughout the world, etc. Many have NOT heard the Gospel. Besides, we are still waiting for MUCH greater deceptions to occur and tribulations such as the world has NEVER seen!

GOD bless

I believe Jesus is speaking in highly parabolic language.

as far as your question: "what about spreading the Word to all nations?" ... the Bible declares this has already happened, therefore the LORD can come at anytime, note carefully:

"if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister." - Colossians 1:23 nasb.

also:

"Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith; " - Romans 16:25,26 nasb.

Honey, you need to read a newspaper. I can think of two people right now that are claiming to be Christ and both have a surprisingly large following (see http://cbs4.com/topstories/local_story_254163721.html for one example).

...and I think you would be hard pressed to find a nation that a Christian missionary hasn't visited...it doesn't say that all the nations will believe, just that the word will spread to every one of them and I think that was probably accomplished at least 50 years ago (probably more)!

I'm not at all suggesting that the end of the world is coming soon...that's not for us to know...we're just supposed to live as if it could happen today...but if you want to try to pinpoint it by looking for signs, then you really need to keep up on what's happening around the world.

There are a whole lot of things that are supposed to happen before the big kaboom the Christians long so passionately for. Among them, a certain temple being rebuilt on a certain site with sacrifices taking place in it. Except that the site is under Muslim control, and is the site of one of their holiest mosques. No sacrificial temple, no end of the world.

Besides, Jesus specifically told his followers that the "Kingdom of God" would come "before some of those standing here have tasted of death". Alas, all his original audience is now long, long dead.
