I steam them using vegetable stock. You just need to check often to see when they get soft.

RE:
steamed carrots?
Can you steam baby carrots? If so how long do you steam them for? And what are some good spices to put on them?

Baby Carrots With Fresh Dill
Ingredients
1 1/2 lb fresh baby carrots
1 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. fresh dill, minced
1 tsp sugar or honey
grated zest & juice of 1 orange
salt, pepper to taste
Cook carrots in boiling and salted water (8 minutes, maybe a little less depending on how crisp you like your carrots. I usually put them in the microwave for about 5 minutes because I like carrots on the crunchier side, but basically you want steamed carrots to your liking.) Drain well. Heat butter on med. high heat. Add everything but the dill and cook for 3-4 minutes to turn those ordinary steamed carrot into delicious honey glazed carrots. Season with salt & pepper. Toss with dill & serve.

^Try steaming them ten minutes and check for desired results it depends on how soft or crunchy you like them, it can take up to 25 minutes on medium heat. Spices - nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger all are really good with carrots, I add Splenda for sweetness, but you can add sugar, another substitute, honey, maple syrup etc. These also work well with sweet potatoes. Enjoy.

You sure can, and here's a way that I love to prepare them after steaming them: (steam them till they're tender enough to your liking, 5-7 minutes should be the trick......)
Saute them in a tablespoon of butter, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and a pinch of salt & pepper.......if you have any nutmeg or cinnamon, just a tiny pinch of each.......Or, saute them in butter and some orange marmalade, you won't believe how well the flavors compliment each other....Enjoy!!!
