You'll need 2 large cans of pureed tomatos, three small cans of tomato paste, a tablespoon sugar, a bit of garlic, a pinch of pepper, a small onion diced, a 1/4 cup water, and a level teaspoon baking soda ( Which cuts down on the acidity).

Put two tablespoons of olive oil in a huge pot and heat hot. Add onions, garlic. Cook one minutes. add all other stuff. Turn a few times, reduce heat to medium for 5 minutes, then reduce to simmer covered, and cook one hour, turning every 15 minutes.

When nearly finished, some people add thinly sliced mushrooms, some add more diced onions, some add some paprika for a spike, some add 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. It's all optional. Sauce should be thickish, but not like morter. If not, make us re you uncover and Cook on low to reduce a bit. If you need it sweeter, add a bit of either honey, or white pure sever, just a wee bit, available from a health food store. White pure Stevia is 200 times sweater than sugar. Most sauces commercially are too sweet anyway.

I start with a pre-made sauce and jazz it up. Brown a pound of ground beef in a pot. Drain off the excess fat. Add a chopped onion, a chopped bell pepper, a spoon full of chopped garlic, 8 ounces of mushrooms coarsly diced (these are optional) and saute this until the onion softens. Add a teaspoon of oregano, a teaspoon of garlic salt, a teaspoon of basil. Stir well and then add the bottled sauce (I like Ragu traditional) and bring to a low boil. I usually add a half a cup of red wine but that is optional. Lower the heat and let the pot simmer for a good 15 mionutes or more so the flavors mix. Then taste it Adjust the seasoning to your taste. You may find it needs more salt because I cook with little salt. Just before serving, add a cup of parmasean or romano (richer flavor but more expensive) and stir well one last time!

This is a wonderful, basic marinara sauce. If you want to make it a little heartier, brown some ground beef or Italian sausage and add it.

1 (28-ounce) can plum tomatoes, including liquid
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, minced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
6 basil leaves or 1/2 teaspoon dried basil, crumbled
Salt
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or to taste

Enjoy!

Well Obviously You can make some that you like but its not going to the best to everybody but you could try with the main ingredients and adding a spice or special ingredient that gives it a kick.
