is it too long of a reply if i say "nothing how bout u?", am i just supposed to say "sup?!" back? last time someone said that to me i saluted and said "nothing!" with a cheesey smile. lol.

I really wouldn't say "nothin" coz that's not really a true answer. Everyone has something going on at any point in time. So I usually answer with "what's up" back, or just say "hey, how are you?". I usually take "what's up" as a hi greeting.

I normally look up and say ' the sky' and then I ask them how they are doing?
