under perfect conditions a couple of years (2 to 5)......now where is perfect ??? curbs, potholes, rain, snow and other things cause the tie rods to wear prematurly. they are designed to wear or break to protect other, more expensive parts. just make sure the replacements have grease fittings ( if available ) and keep them greased...

Barring any impact with road debris, curbs, etc, the life of the car. An incompetent technician will shorten that life expectancy considerably. If they need replacing, let a certified Toyota tech do it as they receive factory training for this procedure and have the latest tools & information on the car. Letting the neighborhood shop do this particular job is asking for trouble.

Depends alot on driving style and conditions, they are alot like reverse shocks that mount on your hubs and hold the car in alignment. On a daily-driver daily errand runner car, i would think they should last about 4 or 5 years at least

I would say 3-5 yrs. But the determining factor is how good the vehicle is taken care of and how it is driven. If its drove hard, I wouldnt expect them to last more than a couple of years.
