Could be the beginning stages of carpal tunnel syndrome, or it could be just fatigue from stress on your hand.

your carpal bones have moved a little and are probably misaligned, cramping your nerves and/or tendons.

its not really carpal tunnel syndrome, yet. similar, but not the same

stand up, have a friend neal at your side. hold your arm to the side and bend your hand so that the palm faces the ground.

your friend grabs your wrist with both hands, their thumbs, underneath and index fingers on top,

and yank, a few times, hard and steady.

its a pretty intense feeling (doesn't hurt, feels kinda orgamsic)
imediatly it should feel better and in a day it should be gone

Is it your hand or your wrist? You may have symptoms of Carpel Tunnel. There's a website about CTS - just search it on the Internet. I have to do those every now and then and the pain goes away. If you can't find it, e-mail me.

as said above, carpel tunnel, you need better posturing when you type, your hand is complaining from all the hard use on the delicate hand, the postureing makes it easier on the hand, and wrists ect. to put it simply you need to use it less on piano and typeing for a bit and curve your fingers, wrists high not slouched down on the key board, support the wrist with the arms, not so much the wrist 'itself'.

ps, sorry that's garbled. xp

it is possible that your hand hurts because you were playing a game all day. it's all in the way your hands were positioned and stuff, anyway i know when i play video games all day my eyes start to weaken and hurt.

carpal tunnel, too much use of your hand and wrist for the same thing. its not serious if you stop doing that and take a break for a while, but if you keep doing it and it keeps hurting you'll eventually need surgery.
