No, sweetie. It's just a tale fashioned out of the Bible. Like the movie "Titanic". Ship is real but events are fictional.
It was an interesting read though. I enjoyed reading those 2 books you mentioned. However, I think Angels and Demons is a better book. The plot has got the wow factor.
Just think for a while......... Isn't it "telling" on how peaceful the protests has been when the book and movie came out? On how The Vatican and the Catholic faith handled it? Can you imagine how it would be like if the same is done from the Quran?
Peace. xxx

Look into the book, Holy Blood, Holy Grail. That is the book that The DaVinci Code was roughly based on, but it is more research and evidence oriented rather than asserting vague ideas as fact. The DaVinci Code used some of the weakest arguments and asserted them as fact, so when a few of those ideas fell, the entire concept was for the most part publicly dismissed. Sad, really.

Some truth. The book was ok but too focused on the made up storyline. I would have respected it more if it had just come straight out with the truth instead of stupid mamby pambying around.
If you look into it on the net, though, it's really interesting.
Apparently Jesus did exist, but he was an ordinary charismatic man, not a son of god. Bit like a cult leader.

I think it does. In the time of Jesus any man who went around all the time with the guys and wasn't married by his twenties must have been considered gay or very strange. Since neither of those descriptions would be conducive to having a following, I think it's safe to say that Jesus was married. In those same days a marriage would have to be consummated so Jesus being perfect (and a man) would most likely have fathered a child. Birth control was pretty much non-existent back then.

I researched some of the stuff in the book and I found out that some of the organisations and such are a really in existence. But as far as what the book was about, I don't believe it is true. Dan Brown himself says it is ficticious.

Yes, the cover has some truth.
The cover says, "The DaVinci Code" a Novel by Dan Brown.
Which is the only true statement in the book. What is true? Its true that the book was in fact written by Dan Brown.
When you turn the page, the lies begin.

You can be absolutely confident that what was written in the Bible about Jesus is accurate, and its accuracy has been confirmed by scholars (both Christian and non-Christian) repeatedly over the centuries.
After all, who had a stronger desire to preserve and pass along accurately the message of Jesus than the first Christians? They believed He alone was the Son of God, sent from heaven to save us from our sins. They also believed nothing was more important than obeying His command to "go and make disciples of all nations ... teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19-20). What possible motive could they have had to change Jesus' message or suppress the facts about His life? The only logical answer is: none.
Instead, they diligently wrote down the record of Jesus' life and teachings (under the guidance of the Holy Spirit). Luke, for example, began his Gospel by assuring his readers that he had taken pains to be sure it was accurate: "I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning" (Luke 1:3).
Don't let anything shake your confidence in what God has given us in His Word, the Bible. Most of all, don't let anything shake your confidence in Jesus Christ, who alone came down from heaven to save us from our sins.

I don't know if there is any truth in the book but I do like the idea of the girls being more important and that Jesus (if he really existed) had a family.

It is a work of fiction, however I am quite amazed by the hoopla the catholic church had whenever people started bringing up the possibility that it might be true.
