At one time satan was an angel who rebelled against God and was thrown out of heaven.

As a created being, satan has definite limitations. Although he is trying to tempt everyone away from God, he will not be the final victor. (Genesis 3:1)

Although God permits satan to work in this world, God is still in control. Jesus, because he is God, has power over satan. (Mark 3:27)

Angels are spiritual beings created by God to help carry out his work on earth. They bring God's messages to people (Luke 1:26), protect God's people (Daniel 6:22), offer encouragement (Genesis 16:7), give guidance (Exodus 14:19), carry out punishment (2 Samuel 24:16), patrol the earth (Zechariah 1:9-14), and fight the forces of evil (2 Kings 6:16-18; Revelation 20:1,2). There are both good and bad angels (Rev. 12:7), but because bad angels are allied with the devil (satan) they have considerably less power and authority than good angels.

I'm not as well versed in scripture as I should be but angels must all have had freewill. When Satan rebelled every angel made a choice to follow him or remain loyal to God.

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim - In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Hello. Indeed, Islam teaches that Iblees was a jinn, not an angel. You are correct in saying that angels have no free will. They are perfectly obedient to Allah and do not fall short in serving Him.

The jinn are a separate creation. While angels are created from light, jinn are created from smokeless fire. Their nature is different. They have freewill.

Iblees was a jinn of high status, and he used to attend the higher reaches with the angels. When Allah created Adam and ordered the angels to prostrate, Iblees was present with them at that time. The angels obeyed, but Iblees, in his arrogance, refused, thinking that he was better than Adam. It was because of this that he bacame the rejected Shaitan. And Allah knows best.

I pray that Allah guides you to that which is best in this world and the next. Ameen.

Fi Aman Allah,

Nancy Umm Abdel Hamid

I'm a muslim and we believe that satan was not an angel, he was a jinn - a living being which exists among humans and are responsible for the occurance of the supernatural, like ghosts, visions, denomic possessions, etc. Jinns have free will as do humans, but angels are servants before God who possess no free will

They were created with freewill, but after the angels made their choice of who they were going to be loyal to He changed them so they had no freewill.

Billy Boy,
The angels were created to serve GOD. Satan decided that he was interested in being powerful like GOD but he was unable to take over. He later lost everything when CHRIST overcame death. You and I have an opportunity to be saved. Satan does NOT. Get a BIBLE and begin your study. Time is one thing that you do not know about so get started ASAP. You will be glad that you did. Have a wonderful evening.
Thanks,
Eds

they have been tricked even inspite of the undeniable fact that they observed His authority over all loathings created---angels and all else; bear in mind that devil became and is an Archangel like Micheal very useful the different angles are no longer so and while the devil confident them to stick to him with the promise of skill they fell to their own freedom of determination and that they fell. Now this being mentioned, the devil is created by way of the writer of Heaven and Earth subsequently he became forged down. Which shall we us see why the devil is out to injury and kill and scouse borrow from God's appropriate creation---us because of the fact he's familiar with and became in Heaven.

All angels have freewill. That is why Lucifer was able to drag 1/3 of them with him when he got thrown out of heaven.

God gave us and angels freewill,he didn't want us to be like robots with no freewill.

You are missing the whole point. Only man has free will. Once man was given free will, Lucifer and many other Angels became jealous and rebelled. For they had God's love until that day, when man came! They are like the older child, when a new child comes, and are tossed aside for THE BABY! GET IT!

Thus, all were cast from heaven in punishment for rebelling to Gods will.

You see, only man was granted free will. When the Angels demanded the same thing, they were banished from heaven.

Thus temptation in the garden of Eden, and every last temptation leading us away from God every day, is their only and every desire since being banished. It's not God's fault we all FAIL! IT OUR'S!

This is your answer in a nut shell.
