Armies cannot exist independent of a nation, and a nation is nothing more than people working collectively. Civilians supply the army with food, clothing, weapons, and other material support. Not only that, but civilians also provide the soldier with moral support and encouragement. Civilians reassure the soldier that he is doing something worth doing, and don't give up, and tell him to be proud, because he is loved and respected.

It is the civilians who make war possible.

By that sentiment, aren't terrorists justified in coming over here and killing us, because we make the Iraq War possible?

How innocent are children in schools? That's about as innocent as you can get but they are still attacked or used as human shields. Not all civilians make war possible. Not all civilians agree with the war. Not all civilians are even aware of why there is war. Some people (countries, military) go out of their way to protect civilians. Others use them and that is pure evil.

Agree, except the unnecessary killing of innocent babies and little children (I'm not talking about the children who have bombs and other weapons on them). These things are done to strike terror in the people. Some sort of sick psychological warfare that destroys the soldier committing the act as well.

Indeed.

The problem is, I know people who joined out of a mistaken sense of duty, etc. They mean well, but they have been duped by the government propaganda. Most are young...yes, it's the old hawks sending the young out to be cannon fodder who deserve the blame.

It only takes a few well trained dogs to move the sheep wherever you want them to go. Is that the sheep's fault?

Very true.

It is just a way of making the other side look bad.

The difference between Terrorism and Military attacks is the use of the word "civilians".
