In religion, we have free will while at the same time having a set course. Yeah, I know, confusing, and then it occured to me. We may have a set course, but we can choose which courses to take in our many choices. If we make one decision, then the path is already set until we come to the next decision. For example, you can choose to either steal or not steal. If you steal, the time from point a to point b is set and will stay that way until you have to make another decision, even small ones. Does anyone else think of it like this?

I agree with what you are saying. It seems to me that we all have the freewill to make choices but once we do that and take actions based on our decisions then we have an effect of some sort on our world.

Once the action is taken there is no going back you can only make your next best decision from that point on.

I am with you
I believe that we all have free will , but at certain points in our lives we come to a crossroads ( which may be predestined depending on our past actions ) , but again we use our free will when we get to these crossroads
it is rather contradicting when you believe in free will and a little confusing
but it is the conclusion I have came to

edit
I seen it a little different
you see the path as predestined , I see the crossroads as predesitined

I understand what you are saying, but I do not agree. You are only in so much control of your life because outside events are bound to happen.
Nobody plans to be hit by a car. If you want to think that it was gods plan then that's great, but I will think it is just bad luck.

Having free will allows one to change his/her mind before committing a wrong act; nothing is 'cut and dried' YOU can always OPT OUT!

We only have intention in our control.

As per our intentions......... Allah sets the results and course.
