Yes. Not out of the box, but once you update your firmware, either by downloading or from a recent game, to at least version 1.8 then it's sorted. (p.s. it costs nothing and just takes about 10 mins)

Yes when you get your ps3 get online and get the 1.9 update. That will give you all the updates to date including a DVD upscaler for dvd to hd. It works great.

update ur firmware and if u have an hdmi cable it upscales dvds doesn't work if u only have component cable either one upscales playstation 1 and 2 but hdmi is for dvds 2
