You should have asked all three of your questions as one and saved a few points !!!
Anyway the best way to approach this is directly with all of the companies concerned .
You can either visit the individual establishments ,and or write a brief letter of introduction to the managers outlining your enthusiasm to find some work , highlight your strengths e.g punctuality , commitments etc .
The very least you should get is a reply outlining what their policy is .
Good Luck , hope you find what you are looking for .

If you want some money try looking at http://www.marketingpond.com/ref.cgi/11596/ It's free and easy. Also http://free-internet-money.blogspot.com may have some ideas for you.

I've noticed you have several questions all asking pretty much the same thing. As it's summer all the places you mention have probably taken all the staff they need from college and university students who are slightly older and easier for places to insure.

Your age counts against you at the moment.
