Well. God created the heavens & the earth... Look around. I see the heavens & I see the earth...
And you can scientifically test this to see if there really is a heaven or earth or a seas, etc....

I agree with Jane. The flood has NOT been disproven. Don't you know what fossils are? To form a fossil it must be buried rapidly. And in most cases, with water. That totally messes up evolution and fossils right there, because it's not possible to form a fossil for over millions of years. the Bible describes the circulation of the atmosphere, how vital blood is to our bodies, and it described the how the earth was speherical, while everyone thought it was flat. Remember that the Bible was written thousands of years ago, when there were no cures for diseases, scientists, or anything. They didn't have high technology and the knowledge that we have today, and were clueless about how the earth worked. But it says it right there in the Bible. Isaiah, Job, and Jeremiah say quite a lot about how earth is. So, the answer is yes, the Bible has been proved scientifically, OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Get your science right, hun. I'm probably going to get a lot of thumbs down for my answer, I know. But I'm jsut saying the truth.

No, in fact the bible is widley believed to have been written as a way to explain the night sky in story form. Most of the stories in the bible are allegories for star formations (watch zeitgeist on google video). Much of the rest of the bible is to provide people with moral guidelines and was written to explain things at a time when there was no science to explain stuff (like the origin of life). Unfortunately, it has been taken serious;y and as a result we have had wars as well as ignorance and hate.

Sure. Some of the places in the Bible actually exist(ed).
Science and the Bible aren't completely contradictory... just mostly.
Nads: Exactly, the Bible says "circle", and not "sphere" (Isaiah 40:22). This distinction occurs in the original Hebrew text, even though there are ancient Hebrew words for both "circle" and "sphere".
They did not know that the earth was a sphere, or they would have referred to it as such.

Not if you take it literally.
If you know enough about astronomy, you can understand the astrology that Christianity plagiarized. Do not get "astronomy and Astrology mixed up. They are two very different things.
Astronomy is a science.
Astrology is a superstition.
The superstitious astrology that the bible ripped-off is based on real solar events: seasons, solstice, the constellation called "three kings', the constellation called,"crux" (because it looks like a "cross"), the three day "death" of the sun, its "resurrection" on Dec. 25th, etc.
If you want to know the facts about biblical mythology, just search for and download (free) the movie "Zeitgeist".
It is well produced and very informative. You only need to watch the first of its three parts. That won't take long and it is certainly worthwhile!

All those rules about what not to eat - turns out they're actually bad for you.
That rule about not mixing crops in a field - doing that makes hybrids. They have no seeds and lose their anti-oxidant value (so people get cancer now).
No adultery or fornication - weakens the social/family fabric, and creates a world full of STD's.
Don't be drunk on wine....
I'm sure if you search through the old testament rules you'll find a bunch of stuff that science at the time did not know, but it turns out to have good reasons.

Yes, the laws the Israelites had about washing after touching things defiled by sickness or death, quarantining people with suspicious rashes and sores, having the people go to the bathroom well outside their camp and bury it...all of this was well ahead of it's time and proven to be scientifically sound.

Yes, the fact that the world is round - Isaiah chapter 40. v 22.
He that sitteth above the circle of the earth,
The people below seem like grasshoppers to Him.
Scientific method is limited to a process defined by that which is measurable and repeatable. By definition, it cannot speak to issues of ultimate origin, meaning, or morality. For such answers, science is dependent on the values and personal beliefs of those who use it. Science, therefore, has great potential for both good and evil. It can be used to make vaccines or poisons, nuclear power plants or nuclear weapons. It can be used to clean up the environment or to pollute it. It can be used to argue for God or against Him. Science by itself offers no moral guidance or values to govern our lives. All science can do is show us how natural law works, while telling us nothing about its origins.

There's a scripture in the bible that says.... " The Lord is moving over the circle of the earth"
Can't remember the actual scripture but maybe someone else will say.
Any way remember Christopher Colombus? He and the Spaniards thought the world was flat! (he he he stupid people). The Bible was written thousands of years before Christopher Colombus.
