My aunt lives with my parents and me. Ever since she's moved here in 2003, she's always saying negative things about me such as "You have fat thighs", "When you were little, you were beautiful..what happened?", "You have small breasts", etc. It gets on my nerves. I let my mom know about this many times and my mom has spoken with her, but she still does this. I always help my mom take care of my aunt and never get anything nice in return. I have always gone by the saying, "treat others as you would like to be treated." i've treated her nicely, shouldn't she treat me the same? Yesterday was the worst, she kept on complimenting my brother who visited. He doesn't help her out like I do. And she kept saying, "Oh, your brother is so handsome.", "Your brother will have really beautiful children", "Your brother is so sweet." I was so mad, tears started running down my cheeks. My mom told me later that I shouldn't cry because that was my aunt's goal.
So, what should I do?

Treat her the same way she is treating you. I mean, you do not deserve all this hatred. If I were in your shoes, I would personally shun her and ignore her. Sort of like the Silent Treatment. Say "Hey mom, how are you today? you look beautiful today!" but, make sure your aunt is in the room...Totally forget what she says to you. I live with someone who sorta hates me, and I just ignore him...he ends up acting all nice to me, trying to get my attention but I just ignore. In my opinion, you could also confront your aunt in privacy and ask her why she treats you badly....and if she says "I don't know what you're talking about"..tell her she should stop lying to herself. i don't know your age but, i think i'd tell her off. she obviously is used to getting things her way and saying what she feels with no consequence. no doubt, she's a crabby lonely woman as well. i'm a believer in treating others the way you would want to be treated but enough is enough. next time, tell her to knock it off. if she can't say something nice to you or about you, don't say anything at all. people are going to be angry at first but it's better than you feeing sad all the time.

I don't understand why you have to take care of her. Is she sick? Leave your aunt alone. Live your life. You don't owe your aunt anything. Stay out of her way.

your aunt is dealing with alot of things right now I would consider the source she is jealous of you and to make her better is to down grade you I wouldnt let it get to you your mom is right she is trying to make you miserable

Seriously, get some itching powder and put it in her clothes, then watch the fun. Just don't get caught. Do this everytime she insults you.

Talk to her, if possible. I say 'if possible' because if I would try and talk to my aunt, her fangs and claws would come out.
