I have 2 cats, that are sisters. We have had them since hours old, which has been for 8 yrs. Now one of the cats, Piglet, will lay under our computer desk, and she is breathing rather hard. And her sister, Wiggles, will not leave her side and everytime Wiggles sees someone she runs up to them and starts meowing and runs back to her sister. Piglet gets up and eats but then goes back to that same exact spot. If you have any answers please tll me!!!

Now she has been up and moving around and she seems bloated. She will only eat soft cat food. But she is moving around like normal!!

There are two reasons to seek a vet help. One is a change in litter box habits or output. For instance, a runny stool is often a sign of an illness, or it could be a result of a change in food. Without a vet opinion, you will not know.

The second reason is if there is a dramatic change in their habits. For what you have described with Piglet, I think that qualifies. And the behavior of Wiggles would tell me that she senses something is not right with Piglet.

When I got my two kittens spayed, things seemed normal. But my one kitten stayed very close to the other, and acted almost like a nurse. Sure enough, my one kitten had a cold, and probably was coming down with it when she was spayed. A trip to the vet, and it was quickly solved and she got better and lived a very long life.

Take Piglet to a good veterinarian for an examination to rule out upper respiratory disease and get her some medicine as soon as possible, after you determine if she is ill. Wiggles is simply a concerned animal who is accustomed to being with Piglet. If something happens to Piglet, you will have to show Wiggles much more love so that she does not die of a broken heart. Start weaning them away from each other, gradually, if you can. Best wishes.

well, have they always done that? When I first got my cat, she stayed in the same spot for quite a while, but you have had yours for 8 years! Maybe Piglet is sick and Wiggles wants to care for her sister and needs someone's help...You might want to take Piglet to the vet. Or maybe just compfort her. That's what I would do. I'm not sure why else they would do that!

Are they both spayed? Yes or no, it's definitely worth taking Piglet to the vet. You think yourself that Wiggles is trying to ask you to help her - maybe it's time to take her advice!

Breathing hard is a vague sign, it could be symptomatic of a zillion things. I suggest you find out what.

Take Piglet to the Vet if Wiggles doesn't answer you when you ask her the first time and i think you've already asked her once.

Get her to an emergency vets ASAP. My kitty Jake passed last year right before Christmas from something similar to that, at 10 years old. They're open 24 hours for emergencies such as this...I wish you the best

She may be in pain. That would explain the hard breathing. Take her to the vet. Something is very definitely wrong.

I think you should take her to the vet. Wiggles is trying to tell you something.

Any reply from us is at best a guess, not a diagnosis. If you are worried, ask the person who WILL know - your vet
