Hey there,

I got this poem from my gran when my Dog died...

A Loss Of A Companion.....

If it should be that i grow weak,
and pain should keep me from my sleep
then you must do what must be done
for this last battle can't be won.

You will be sad i understand,
don't let your grief then stay your hand
for this day more than all the rest,
your love for me must stand the test.

we've had so may happy years,
what is to come can hold no fears,
you'd not want me to suffer so,
the time has come please let me go.

Take me to where my needs they'll tend
and please stay with me till the end
hold me firm and speak to me,
until my eyes no longer see.

Please do not grieve it must be you,
who has this painful thing to do,
wev'e been so close, we two these years,
don't let your heart hold back the tears.

i just wanted to share that poem with you!

Thank you so much for taking the time to type it up and share it with everyone on here. It is a truly beautiful and touching poem (I cried!). I am printing it out to bring into work with me. So many of our clients are so blind when it comes to seeing that their dog does not have a quality of life anymore, almost as if they are in denial. I am thinking of one of our clients in particular who has canceled and rescheduled the euthanasia for their dog for the last 6 weeks. The poor old boy is suffering and has that look in his eyes like "please, let me go." It breaks my heart. I am going to share the poem with her. Thanks again.

Of course you can't are living the relaxation of your lifestyles feeling bad; and believe me you will not! It is very traditional to believe like you do, you adored your gran's canine and shedding any one you love will make you suppose dangerous. Unfortunately it's whatever we all will experience in our lives at some time whether or not it's loss of a pet or pal or family member. This expertise though intricate right now will get better and can make you improved and better ready to deal with other matters sooner or later. Try to appear at it as a stage of existence that you are passing through; just about like being on a experience on a long road. At the moment you're in the core of your journey however the end of the road is up there and and it's going to come. You will perpetually have a specified place in your coronary heart to your adored canine and you are going to perhaps still feel sadness but it's going to get better, believe me. I have adored and stated goodbye to various pets together with 3 puppies and a couple of cats, and still now I regularly see or hear them, infact simply the opposite day I stepped over the cat on the landing; and then regarded once more and of path he wasn't there. I suppose they stick with you in view that they loved you as so much as you cherished them and that love will at all times be there. So you don't have to suppose about loss of life to be reunited as she is still with you! She consistently will likely be. Put a massive image of her on the wall, so to nonetheless see her, speak to her and consider what she appears like, recall the funny things she did and snicker about them, it does support. If you do fall in love with yet another canine/pet she's going to understand that this love will not be exchanging her; you may have ample love in you for many pets and humans. Just keep in mind the tip of that ride, it will come and you'll be better, you're going to be blissful again.
