I might get hired at a deli and work there overnight. The pay starts at $10.01 an hour. I'm only 18 and the most I got paid at a job was $7.50. I've figured it out that I would get $1,601.06 a month before taxes. Is that good pay for someone my age?

not bad if you manage your money... whether you make a $100 or $1000 dollars per week... it will not matter if you don't learn to manage your money... this could pay your expenses while you get an edcuation to get a better paying job... one more great word of advice from the big cheese... always, always save 10% of your income and invest it wisely... then when your aged swiss like me you will have quite a little mouse nest... (i know, it's suppose to be a squirrel)

$10.01 is OK especially for someone at the age of 18, consider the fact that millions of Americans work for nearly half that amount known as minimum wage, and if the job enables you to start collage then that is a +, but if the hours are full time and your not able to go to a collage of your choice. Then i would recommend dropping the job and taking a part time job that does inable you to start collage, even if you have to take a pay cut. Or keep the job for 3 tow 6 months and save all your money then quit it and start collige, cuse in the long run you don't want to be a deli worker for the rest of your life, inless you plan on opening your own deli then the work experance would be nice to stick around it a few years.

I have managed a deli before and this is not enough.

Most deli managers make $30K +.

The only reason to accept $10 per hour is if it is relaxing, easy and the owners/bosses are a pleasure to work for.
