I wasn't able to spend my boyfriend's brithday with him. But when we get back I am making it up to him. (I kno were not married but I feel like i get more serious/mature answers when I post here) I'm making him breakfast in bed, decorating his apt, making him dinner, and a birthday cake. But I need help because I don't know what to do during the day.. between breakfast and our candle lit dinner lol. I dont want anytime to go by that we aren't doing something. One problem though I am COMPLETELY BROKE =( I have no idea what to do for a present or what to do for the day. I really want him to have an amazing day because his actual brithday wasn't a good one for him. Please help me everyone.. This is really bothering me, I don't want to let him down =( I mean he'd be happy with whatever I came up with.. but I just want it to be a birthday he will remember.. he hasn't really had a good one before. Thanks for whoever helps me :) By the way he is 21 and doesn't drink.

Go for a walk in a park, you'll have fun and you'll come up with things to do, like having a scavenger hunt for him. Make a list of things he needs to find in the park (something shaped like a heart, something that has the same number as his age, a bird, butterfly, a pink flower, etc.) and tell him to take a picture of it. With each amount of objects he finds, give him something. (A kiss for one object, etc.) (Later in the year, for christmas, make a scrap book with the pictures he took, include the list objects he needed to find and his reward list).

At dinner present to him a coupon book filled with sweet and loving things:
-An hour back massage
-A 15 minute back scratch
-A 15 minute foot rub
I'm sure your imagination will come up with more ideas.

If you have an extra frame lying around the house. Draw him a picture. Even if you can't draw, create something that expresses your love. Cut out things that can reperesnt things the two you from an old magazine and use old pictures to paste things together in the shape of a heart. You instantly will dress up this arts and craft object by placing it in a frame.

Also create a memory jar. Use an old jam or pickle jar. Wash it out and peal the lable off of it. Put a piece of fabric over the lid (even if you cut up a piece of clothing) and tie ribbon to it. Glue a piece of paper where the old label once was that says "Memory Jar." Than cut up pieces of papers with memories on it and place them in the jar. Write down things that happened to the two of you on your first date or the first time he met your family. Before you know it, the jar will be filled. He can pull each paper out and you two can have a great laugh. Both of you can add to it over time and pull it out over the years to come.

Having no money doesn't mean you don't have to have a nice day!

If there is a rural area that maybe has walking trails or a lake, you should go have a picnic lunch and take a romantic walk.

You could also curl up and watch movies in bed all day. I think just relaxing and spending time together will be nice for you, don't try to hard to fill every minute or you may be disapointed. Just relax, I am sure it will be a wonderfull birthday!
