yes, he did, because he knew he wasn't the messiah. The torah tells us there is only one g-d, there shall be none else- that includes Jesus. Praying to anyone but the one g-d is a sin because it breaks the first commandment

Look in the KJV bible and see exactly what word he said. Did he say God or father.
Depending which word he said does make a difference, a very big difference.
It also makes a difference in how he worded the entire sentence he said.
To confirm I would need to look it up in the kjv. But anyway.
God and his son are not actually one in the same as people falsely believes.
God's real son walks the earth in the last days as a man. He wouldn't be God himself, but Adam who returns.
So, when you pray, that would be correct, you would pray to God, not to Adam.
If he would had said father, there would also be a difference. Jesus said the people's father is the devil.
Jesus warned that it's the devil who is the people's father, not God as people believes.
To father means to guide and instruct. The bible clearly says that in the last days God is going to guide and instruct only one man, not the people.
Since God is not guiding the people in the last days, then who is. Jesus warned that it is the devil who guides and instruct the people.
Notice that the bible says that the people on the earth in the last days will be convinced that the false teachings that they had been brought up to believe are true, while they are actually false. Only one man among them will know better than to believe the false teachings.
One of the reasons there's so many wars going on is because all of the people have been brought up to believe the false teachings.
That's because when people say they seek God's help in understanding the bible, they're thinking God had giving them the understanding of what they believe, while the understanding actually came from the devil.
When God's son is on the earth in the last days he will not be answering prayers.
His purpose will be to make preparations for the harvesting.

I kinda pray to both, as weird as that sounds, but Jesus and God are the same being, but different at the same time. Like...I guess they're linked as the same God (Holy Trinity), but different as parts and wholes.
And when did Jesus ever say that? He basically said then "don't pray to God" since he IS god

Not all Christians pray to Jesus. We pray through Jesus, through the sacrifice He made for us, through His Most Holy Name because the ONLY way to Our Father is through The Son.

No, He didn't. He told us (1) to pray to the Father; and (2) that He and the Father are One. Therefore you cannot pray to God without praying to Jesus; and you cannot pray to Jesus without praying to God. When Thomas knelt before Jesus and prayed "my Lord and my God", Jesus didn't seem to have any problem with that.

Praying is comunication with someone. When the disciples were talking with Jesus, they were also praying with Jesus.
Jesus never told anyone to not pray to him. Jesus said the oposite. He said He would hear. Whosoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.

Prayer, Thanksgiving, and worship are three separate things.
A prayer is, literally, a petition - a question, usually for something your soul desires from God. Prayers can go to Jesus. To my knowledge all prayer is routed to the proper "Heavenly Hosts". God answers prayers, Jesus answers prayers, the Holy Spirit answers prayers and so on. Worship is reserved for the Father alone. Sometimes if someone is worshiping Jesus, Jesus will accept it and pass it along for you. However worship really should go directly to God.

I use to pray to Jesus, all the time. The lord never answered my prayers. Then he taught me to pray unto the father in his name. He still has not answered my prayers, but you know he at least showed me to pray to God the father.
