Yes, it is true. During an EEG the technician usually conducts one or more tests using a strobe light. There is evidence that flashing lights, certain video games and even cartoons/movies can trigger seizures. The Nintendo Game Boy even use to carry the warning that its use can trigger seizures.

Avoid activities that might trigger a seizure, such as playing video games that have flashing or flickering lights. In rare cases, the flashing lights and geometric patterns of video games can trigger seizures in children

YES!!!!!
It can be harmful to your eyes also.
As a person with epilepsy I can not take the flashing of lights.
Strobe light are awful.The lights on police cars are too. Many things. Ppl dont uderstand how it hurts.

yes...however, they can be bad for anyone as well. They can put anyone into a seizure.
