A health cat can live between 12-20 years. It depends on the breed of cat and how well they are care for. Most really well cared for cats pass on at about 15-16. So you still have a lot of years with her.

The average life span now for an indoor cat is 15 - 18 years. I had one who lived to be 22 years old. Veterinary medicine is so good now and people are much more aware than they used to be about a pets health so their life spans have increased considerably over the last 20 years. Outdoor cats life span is about 3 - 5 years because of sickness, predators and traffic.

With proper care your cat should live a long time yet. I had a vet tell me once that cats can live to be 15-20 easily while it is not unheard of for a cat to live to be 30 years old. Currently I have a callico that is 11 years old.

Cats can live over 15 years if they are in good health and always see their vet to get a check up once a year. I had a cat who lived for 17 years she passed away from kidney failure.

The answerers above are correct -- for neutered/spayed cats.

If your cat isn't neutered or spayed, you're lucky he or she has lived to be five years old. Unneutered male cats don't fight to the death very often -- but often enough so that they don't live five years.

Their average life span is 14 years but they can live to be 20 or older.
