In that time in age it was normal for people to get married at the age of 14 or 15.

So this is very possible. That it was a little bit of a translation mix up. Losing your virginity means you have to have sex. This meaning that we all lose it when we get married whether we like it or not. ha.

She as far as we know never had sex until she had conceived Jesus' four brothers...and yes he did have brothers.

Then you might ask how did she become pregnant with Jesus...well that to me is mystery. That is why it is all called a miracle.

we discussed this in my religious studies class.

You are right. Originally it did say young women but then was translated into virgin. Even though it seems incorrect, if she had not been a virgin she would not have been called a young woman. They meant the same thing.

(I'm agnostic so I don't really care either way.)

Roman Catholics are taught (erroneously) the virgin Mary never had sex after Jesus was born and that Jesus had no brothers and sisters. Christians do not believe that however the Roman Catholics do. The Pope teaches that Mary is the mediator between God and man. Catholics also engage in more praising of Mary than Jesus Christ himself and actually pray to her to have their prayers answered. Rosary Beads graphically represent how Roman Catholics heap 10 times more praise upon Mary than God himself. Of the 59 total beads of the Rosary, 53 beads are "Hail Marys", but only 6 beads are "Our Father". The Rosary most often ends with a "Hail, Holy Queen" prayer to Mary, not God.# Matthew 13:55-56 "Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary, and His brothers, James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? 56 "And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this man get all these things?" 57 And they took offense at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his home town, and in his own household."
# Mark 6:3 "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, and Joses, and Judas, and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?" And they took offense at Him. 4 And Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his home town and among his own relatives and in his own household." Matthew 1:24 And Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took her as his wife, 25 and kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he called His name Jesus.

Virgin in Latin translates into Young woman. In fact Virgin back then meant young unmarried woman.

Mary was a virgin and the bible tells us Joseph was very careful not to have sex with her until after the baby was born, so no one would think it was his.

Apparently Mary had another man in her bed. In those times a woman would be stoned to death if she commited such a crime against her husband. So she made up a lie to save herself and her family. Jesus was told his whole life that he was a gift from God, and as a child being told that many times makes you believe. When he had to die on the cross "if this much is true" he said "father why have you forsaken me" because all his life he was told he was the son of God and he didn't want it to turn out the way it happened. My theory.

were you there? according to the story, she was a virgin when she conceived Jesus. Nothing says she stayed one after. She WAS married, after all.

Because the Bible says so, read it. ( I read the King James Versions (including NKJV) because of their direct translations). God bless
