flexing your stomach is good for you, it is like crutches while standing or sitting. Nothing right with it at all. It will help define stomach muscles.

Probably not a good idea, your bowels are constantly doing their assigned function and needs to be in a relaxed state. I you want ab definition workout with a regular schedule which allows for work and rest periods.

Bake or grilling would be a much healthier option! Fried foods are horrible!! and it could be what is causing your weight gain. Check what other foods you may be eating that could be part of the cause.

performing isometric contractions will provide some limited benefits to the rectus abdominis. there is absolutely nothing harmful about them at all. muscles are designed to do to be activated that's what they do
