I know that caltrans have been doing a great job with the bridges especially in Sacramento, CA. Everyone seems to complain about how dangerous the bridges might be in the following years. The engineering from other states are not as good with their jobs and that is why the bridges are so deficient. Every 2 years, there are maintence on the california bridges. There is nothing to fear. I want to hear from you of what you are thinking and see what we can do to make you feel safer.

I feel that they are pretty safe. I trust cal-trans although your plans are hard to read. I work for a city and we have caltrans plans that are upside down with North at the bottom of the page. Some are in Metric and others Standard. Its time consuming to figure out, but as long as you guys know what your doing I'm happy.

I'm of a mixed-opinion... I grew up in Silicon Valley, spent 12 years in San Diego, and returned to the San Francisco Peninsula... I certainly see the retro-grade work done following the Loma Prieta and Northridge quakes to prevent them from simply falling off their towers, but...

I also see the condition of our roadways: the 101, 280, and the pot-holes THERE on flat ground that take years to be repaired and WONDER how good the maintenance on the bridges really is.

California REALLY needs to put some SERIOUS money into three key areas of STATE infrastucture: Bridges, RAILWAYS, and getting people OFF the roads.
