This would help with future crime investigations (murder, rape, etc.). And also help to ensure that the father is trully the biological father right away, instead of having to waste his time and money on a child who isn't his and a mother who is a worthless piece of scum.
Any thoughts?

In response to some of your responses, I should add that I have never had such an experience with not knowing if a child is mine or not.
I just hear of it all the time and I think it would be a good idea for a multitude of reasons, not just paternity.. also crime resolution.

Anyone who thinks a mandatory DNA database of all individuals is wrong, has something to hide.
Everyone's DNA should be on file, I agree.

you obviously have issues, but do you really think that is a good idea just to get out of being pointed at as a father of a child? I would feel my privacy totally infringed upon and have no sense of anominimity ( spelling obviously wrong Heehee). But I hope you get the point. If you get in touch with the right lawyers or legal aid I'm sure they would help you do a paternity test for no cost to yourself....if you are confident the baby is not yours.

NO, NO and absolutely not! Every person in this country is presumed innocent until proven guilty, and evidence should not be collected until after a crime occurs. If people don't want to shell out money for DNA tests to prove paternity, then maybe they need to keep their pants on.

It is also a violation of privacy. Sure it would help the police, etc., but there are quite a few of us out there who have no intention of murdering or raping or lying to our significant other about who the biological parent is. Sounds like you are bitter about the worthless piece of scum. I suggest that you deal and lose the chip on your shoulder.

actually, it's not a bad idea. not nessecarily to weed out dead beat dads but in cases of missing persons. it could definately save man power and money during investigations.

Absolutely not!
Now, for the future criminals argument, maybe begin collecting samples on kids that have juvenile offenses since many criminals begin their careers during childhood.
