I usually take 40g before a workout & 20g after but I just heard that its more important to take after than before,

should I take 20g before & 40g after now?

yea take more after.

before and after would be optimum. before helps to decrease the catabolic effects of resistance training and after to jump start the repair process by increasing muscle protein synthesis. also blended protein of 40g about 30 min before bed

20 before and 40 after is better. right after your workout you need simple carbs to cause an insulin spike. the insulin will force as much nutriants as posssible to your muscles.so drink a soda or a gatorade right after your workout, then 15 minutes later take your 40 grams of protein.
