Nuts and expecially penauts are one of those allergies that you usually don't grow out of. It can be life threatning. You need to go and get the allergy testing done so you know exactly how allergic you are so you can have an epi pen with you just in case. You have to remember too that some foods are processed on lines with nuts and they usually list them on the package, but ocassionally they miss them.
My daughter is allergic to walnuts, but some peanut butters are processed on lines with walnuts or other items so I have to be careful with all nuts.

Alot of children have food allergies that they out gow as adults.
My daughter is also allergic to nuts. I hope she out grows hers. But usually nut allergies are life long. As long as you dont eat nuts of any kind at all. Maybe one day it could happen. Its really not that bad once you work out all the details. Now its like a normal thing at our house.

That is sad. You must be allergic to me!
ahhah, I'm just kidding around.
Unfortunately, we are NOT able to get rid of our allergies. If we could do that, I would have gotten a pet cat AND dog. [I'm allergic to both] But eventually, you might be able to grow them out. I've heard of medication that helps get rid of your symptoms. One of the recess aids in my elementary school told me she got a series of shots and wasn't allergic to dogs and cats in 10 years! Some people may get rid of their symptoms easier though.

Some people eventually outgrow their allergies when they become adults, but you can't count on that being the case...especially if your allergy is severe now. Accept the fact that your allergies are probably permanent. Then if SOME DAY, they subside or go away altogether, you can be pleasantly surprised.

after a period of time you may lose your allergies to nuts, however, I wouldn't risk it if you are deathly allergic. my dad used to be alergic to bees and recently got stung and had no reaction to the bee venom.
