My Tom-Tom 'shat-nav' (it's not a miss-print) has tried to send me down countless footpaths & bridle paths which is a bit difficult in a 7 1/2 tonne lorry but the daftest thing is when I'd just made a delivery on the Isle of Grain in Kent and needed to go to Maidstone in Kent,a distance of 30 miles or so,it told me to cross the 1/2 mile stretch of Thames estuary to Sheerness & go from there.

Most Sat-Navs use data from maps which are three years+ out of date. In addition very few use Ordnance Survey maps because they cost!, so a lot of their information is wrong!. I tend to use AA, RAC, Mitsubishi route planners for up-to-date maps & guidance.

It is important to remember that all sat-navs are only a GUIDE - they are not a definitive set of accurate directions.

If you want accurate, you buy a map...
