He did not put the wrong score down.
The player he was partnered with is the player that keeps the score. In a professional tournament, you do not keep your own score. You keep the other player in your twosome's score.

After the round, you go to the scorers table and prior to turning in your scores, you need to verify that the other player has everything wrote down legit. You then sign the score card and turn the cards in.

Sergio did not verify the accuracy of his score card.
