If you look at the human race as a whole you can say that we really are a race of parasites. But if you take each human individual, you will find that some are parasites, some chose to live in peace with nature, and some actually chose to be its guardians.
The human race can be judged by the overall actions of these groups. And unfortunately at the moment the parasites are winning by far. Most of us are parasites. As a matter of fact I am a parasite (although I wish I wasn't)... and so are you probably...

No you're certainly not unique in your outlook as people have been thinking this way and discussing it for a very long time. I do remember perhaps 15-20 years ago the BBC had a very big controversial discussion on radio with a big panel of experts and the public to theoretically decide which one species should be saved if the Earth was destroyed - it wasn't humans! In many ways humankind does indeed seem like a plague of parasites upon the Earth, though religious people would say the opposite.

One of the most basic principles of nature is that if something is moving, in any way, it will continue to do so unless acted upon by a force. This means that there's no need for any force to keep the Earth spinning - it would actually require an awful lot of force to make it stop. In reality, though, the Earth's spin is slowing down very slowly because of the tidal interaction with the Moon.

Humanity is the single most damaging "thing" on earth. I sincerely hope it realises this and acts before it makes it's own house uninhabitable. We've already made it so for many other species killing them off one way or another with our selfish actions.
There seems to be a belief amongst some that humanity can survive in total isolation of all other life and eco systems on earth. Probably hightened by the fact so many of us remove ourselves from nature by living in cities, towns and other urbanised areas. We are far more interdependant on the other life on earth than so many ever appreciate.

In a round about way your right but the question is who's gonna be the first one to step up and use pest control on themselves because no matter what you do there will always be those who don't care its kind like roaches you can eliminate the ones that are carrying disease but the clean ones will still breed bad ones. I'm not sure I,m putting my opinion in writing correctly but this is the best i can do.

I agree, we humans are parasites and I can't think of one good reason why we are here. A few days ago I read that human beings are the guardians of the Earth and all I could think of was "what a load of twaddle". We're nothing of the kind, we destroy more than we protect.

Who is riff-raff? This sounds an excellent description of our mother planet. The poor old thing needs a bit of sympathy from people like you!

Yes, I have.
And it frightens me to admit your question is correct.
You have a very valid point. But what can we do to reverse the situation, with all the wars and politics controlling us ?
Excellent question, well done, lets hope it gets some discussion going to help stop our intrusion of our planet.

The gaia theory states as earth being like a living organism and like living organisms they are sometimes infested with creepy crawlers inside or on them. that being said earth is like a human being and the human beings standing on earths ground are like a bunch of idiots... and as much as i admire mother nature, I also want our human race to succeed in life, but if we keep on eating our world the consiquences are severe for our future.
