It is more than likely the flashing unit. The unit can usually be found under the dash near the steering wheel. It probably is round, about the size of soda bottle cap, maybe a little larger. It should cost less than $5 at any parts store. Just ask for a flashing unit or relay for your vehicle when you go to the parts store. If the flashing unit doesn't fix it, you may have a bad ground somewhere. If you are only having trouble with your flashers, I would doubt that you have a ground problem. You may have to also check your turn signal switch which is located under your steering wheel. This can be a bear to change because you have to remove the steering wheel. Good luck.

Try the emergency flashers. If you turn the emergency flashers on, and all four turns signal bulbs start to flash, then the problem is defiantly in the turn signal flasher unit. The flasher unit is usually mounted under the dash either on or somewhere close to the fuse fox. There is one flasher unit for the turn signals, and one for the emergency flashers. They are usually the same part. The flasher units just pull out and push back in. They are very easy to change. Since the emergency flasher gets very little use, you can usually just swap the emergency flasher unit for the turn signal flasher unit until you can get to an auto parts store. After all, it is safer to have turn signals than it is to just have emergency flashers.
