I grew up on fish, I loved it but 2 years ago it all went wrong. I ate a bit of cod and about 2 hrs later I started getting severe cramps, this then progressed to diahorrea, then vomiting. I've had fish several times since and the exact same result. We were round at mums tonight for tea, I told her about the fish as she was making fish for tea she said I was full of it. But low and behold 2hrs later and the cramps have started.

Is there a cure for this? And how come I never had any problem with fish in the past, I've tried Cod,Whitting,Tuna and Salmon, the only one that doesn't make me sick is tuna,

I developed an allergy to apples and tea(all colors) at 24. Occasionally I have a migraine from fish, maybe there is mercury or I can't handle too much vitamin E. Mysteries of life.

Your best bet is to avoid all fish for the next 1 to 2 years. Then try introducing slowly into your diet, about 1 teaspoon worth at a time (once per week) and try and build your body up very slowly until you can eat your usual amount again. Eat some starchy food with the fish and this might help with the digestion. There are no wonder cures it just takes a very long time and might never work. There are some foods I cant even stand the smell of, its enough to make me sick and it actually gets worse as it goes on longer. Your body needs a rest now.

Yourve ended up sensatising to it i'm sorry but for now on this will always happen with the possibility of it even getting alot worse to a worse allergy! I know this beacuse when i turned 16 i developed lots of allergies i can't eat onion its an allergy quite simular to a nut allergy and i'm intorllerent to that new sugar subsitute splenda e.c.t Tuna maybe a diffrent type of fish to the type your allergic to like i'm not allergic to spring onion. I'm sorry but you can't cure it if you eat lots more fish you might become seriously ill so don't take that approach see a doctor if you want more details about it.

It sounds like you developed an allergy to the fish. I would avoid eating fish and make an appointment with an allergist and he'll be able to give you the right treatment. The symptoms you are experiencing is definitely an allergic reaction. If you happen to eat fish, have an antihistamine on hand . I take allergy shoots to help suppress my allergy symptoms and so far it's helping.

Umm...very interesting form of intolerance.I think it could be some allergy from the mercury found in fish.Tuna is a deep water fish with very small or none amount of mercury.Try my advice, buy some deep water fish high in Omega 3 wild salmon, herring, mackerel, anchovies... if this is wrong, ill sugest to try Omega 3 supplements

If you find a cure, let me know. I have the same problems with chicken and turkey. I started having problems with it when I was 30. It has been 16 years since I have eaten chicken.
