You will still have a juvenile record. That does not disappear. If you break the law after you turn 18, then you are starting an adult record.

You can take care of it while you are 17 and if the crime you committed has a penalty that extends past your 18th birthday then you might have some trouble, because in California you will be sent to adult jail when you are 18, hence creating an adult record. People fail to realize that your record is not automatically clear. It can be closed but if an agency calls to verify if you have had contact with the law, it will still show up. Also if you apply for a job that does an extensive background check, it may show up for a very long time. It doesn't automatically disappear and go away forever.

*LOL* Whoever told you the juvenile record will "clear" when you turn 18 isn't telling the truth. If they were, any kid could commit any crime they wanted, up to the day BEFORE their 18th birthday, and it would just disappear! It just doesn't work that way.
Juvenile Courts can maintain jurisdiction in a kid's life until that kid is 21, 23, or 25 years old, depending on the category of the offense and the disposition/placement of the kid. So you CAN be an adult on Juvenile Probation. (The age of jurisdiction thing is going to be specific to each individual state... so check that out in your home state.)
Also, records are not automatically "sealed" when you turn 18. You have to ask the Court to seal any juvenile record you might have. And they're not obligated to do so.

Yes, unless you are being charged as an adult or, possibly, with a felony. Get it taken care of asap and talk to the judge about this exact question to be sure that you are 100% in the clear. (Also be sure to verify, both with the judge and the person you pay, that EVERYTHING is paid! Call again a couple weeks later to verify with the payment office again. Trust me on this...when it comes to dealing with legal matters, your money tends to "disappear" and the warrant will be re-issued .)

The issue will be on your JUVENILE record whether it is resolved before you are 18 or not. You juvenile record IS NOT cleared when you turn 18. It is harder to access than your adult record, but it is NOT cleared.

Juvenile records are sealed. If you do not take care of the warrant it will stay active no matter what. You could be 25 years old with a juvie warrant and get transported to the JDC and go to juvie court.

You will be asked about your juvenile record. If you fail to be candid, they will find out.
