my son is 18 months and has been eating kids meals since he was 12 months old. he was born with a lot of problems and now he dont grow(he weights barely 20 pounds and is like 29inches long) and his doctors told me that if i let him eat fast food at least 2 times a week its good becuase it is high in fat and if i am uncomfortable with all the fat then i can change out the fries for something nutritious. i think it would be a decision all up to you. i didnt want my son eating it but his doctors did. if you think it is appropriate a couple times then it wont hurt just start with the small things and dont give it to them a lot or they will get use to it

No. My daughter is only 23 months old (2 years old next month) and I think that's too young for fast food. Toddlers and young children need healthy meals while they're young and growing. My husband despises fast food places like McD's and swears our kids will never eat there. *lol* I don't see anything wrong with the occassional treat though once they're older.

My kids eat what I eat (at least when they are awake). So if I eat fast food so do they. But I probably only eat fast food once a month.

We let our kids (age 3 yr and 15 mo) eat fast food on occasion, but we pick the healthiest options available that a toddler will eat. Given the option, our 15 mo old son will pick applesauce over french fries, but our 3 yr old daughter like french fries with ketchup. And we always get them milk for the drink.

Yes I let them eat fast food but not everyday. I give it to them like once a week or every other week.

I let them on occasion, say at the most twice a month. When we do go to a fast food restaurant they have to have milk for their drink and will often choose the apples over the fries.

Keith housand, you're hilarious...
Yes, we have a hamburger once or twice a month. Mind you, we watched Supersize Me last week which my four year old thought was fairly riveting. When we drive past a hamburger place he shouts McDonalds Rubbish! which I really enjoy. His father taught him that one.
We have junk occasionally so it's not a forbidden thing, because everyone wants forbidden things, but even a kid can judge that home food is just nicer.

Yes.
I have one child who runs on chocolate milk. I have another who has declared war on vegetables. They think french fries and ketchup are manna from the gods.
I watch them closely for signs of rickets, beriberi, kwashiorkor, anemia and other nutritional diseases, but so far, no problems. They do remarkably well in school and have no known health issues.
My plan is to let them watch me eat all the asparagus, broccoli, mushrooms, and fruit and vegetables in general, with great relish, and at some point in their teen age or young adult years something will snap, and voila, I will be consigned to sharing the good stuff with them. Until then, it’s all mine.

I do. They probably eat fast food once or twice a month. Everything in moderation!

Only RARELY if there seems to be no other choice. (Like on a trip and we're in the middle of nowhere.)

I recommend "Fast Food Nation" by Eric Schlosser. You'll never want fast food again. (And calling it "food" is being generous.)

One of my main contentions with McD's is the way they so shamelessly market to children with their playgrounds and "happy meals" and such. Then they peddle food with no nutritional value to speak of. That's just evil. All about the $$$.
