There are, obviously, multiple answers which combine to collectively explain the current number of women who have accepted Islam:
(1) Some of these women came to sincerely believe that Islam is true (e.g. they were lapsed Christians who found great similarity in Islam, and also, peronally, thought Islam was more "logical" or made more sense than their former faith).
(2) Some of them are converting insincerely because they are in love with Muslim men whom they wish to marry (this also explains a lot of conversions to Judaism and the Sikh faith, though obviously far less people are converting to Judaism or the Sikh faith than are to Islam).
(3) Some originally converted insincerely, but while pretending to be Muslimahs, came across aspects of the deen they considered beautiful or true, and then became sincere believers in Islam.

Because they know the truth and are reading the truth about Islam from non biased hate filled sources unlike most of the people in the world and after 9/11 it sparked a huge reversion of people in the West to Islam and also sparked a huge interest in people wanting to learn more about Islam especially in regards to how women are treated and seen in Islam.

Once I embraced Islam I began to really love myself again...and to respect myself. I am not always in hijab yet, but I will be soon, and it is fully by my choice. My husband of a year has never even pressured me to wear hijab, along with my mother in law, and sister in law who are both in hijab. They never even asked me. In Islam it is the women's choice, and one that I will make as well. Islam allows a freedom, an individual freedom. You are not pressured to do anything, but it is between each individual and Allah...that is all...I am very proud to be a Muslim and very happy that I found this path. Muslim women actually are a lot more free I think then non Muslim women, in the sense they are judged by their mind and not their looks . Muslim women who are domindated by their husbands, or forced to cover themselves...this has nothing to do with Islam, but culture...or marital problems...it is not Islamic practice.

women in the west are starting to get tired of the way that are looked at like sex objects they are also tired of men cheating on them and a reckless lifestyle and they recognise that within islam women are held high as mothers and wifes and are respected.
the rights thta islam gives women women cannot get anywhere else so they are recognising the call of thier Lord and obeying.
Islam is the only logical answer for women around the world

I'm not a Muslim, but the reason I wouldn't mind being one is because I don't trust men (well, I do trust some of them, but there are many I don't trust). I hate to be looked at as a sex object. I think Muslim women look beautiful, and I would like to be treated with the same respect... and be looked at as a human being, with thoughts and feelings, and not be judged by how sexy I am (or am not).

They can enjoy true gender equality according to Divine Order.
To gabruru: No offense, but if, after your daughter does her own soulsearching and/or goes on her own spiritual journey and chooses to embrace Islam of her own free will and conviction, what can you do to stop her if that's what she wants? Your low opinion of Islam would not matter to her.
To MumOf4: Thank you for your comments. Beautiful!

Because when you learn the real Islam, not whatever people are stereotyping it by, you realize it really is the greatest religion.

Women like modesty sometimes. There are a great many women that are sick of our sex-crazed culture. Islam still has a strong focus on modesty.
