This guy and I have know each other for almost 10 years. I was 19 he was 31 and a family friend, so dating him was a NO. However, during that time he gave me signs - I think. He came to my defence when in a group of people I was getting teased he stood up and told them all to #$%*#( off and leave me alone - my knight! lol..I would catch him looking at me and then he'd look away..then many times he would go out of his way to come and say hi, he would remember things I said in detail weeks before and was just basically very nice to me. I totally didn't see this and continued to date for years -I'm told he hasn't dated much and wasn't happy when he would see me with someone else- Now I'm almost 30 and still find him sweet/attractive and he's single and I'm not "a kid" anymore and it wouldn't be so wrong....so do I make a move?

Go ahead and make a move, but try for subtle at first and see how he reacts. Ask him to join you for dinner or cook dinner for him.

You're plenty old enough to know what you want. The question is whether he sees you as date-able or if he sees you like a kid sister. I'm sure you would hate to have misread his signals and wind up harming your friendship. Also, if this guy is a close family friend, you might want to talk to your mom and get an idea of how your parents would feel about such a relationship - not that you need their permission, but if he's their friend it could strain the relationship.

Well if you still think about him after all of this time, maybe you should make a move.
Some people miss the love of their life because they're worried about what other people may think of the situation. Do what you feel and you can't go wrong!

Try to make an intelligence move. H e knew you since you were young so he might have a sister/brother love for you. When you were 19 it was awkward but now it is all fine go for it you never know

Well you did think that he liked you, there has to be a reason that you would think that right = ]? lol. I say make the move. If its been this long and your still thinking about him and this then id say you really like him. It seems to me like you two could really work out. Try it. I mean why not. What have you got to lose?

Ask him out. At this age, things can be more open and adult. You will regret it later if you never make a move. Better to try and fail. Who knows, it might work. Do it as a friendship thing but be open for romance. Luck.

i think you should just go for it
my dad always says to before a big tourtament "it doent matter what you do, it only matter if you try. remember, always shoot for your dream, you made my dream come true, so now its time for your dream to come true"
and wen he would say that to me i would feel like i could do anything.so try it
if it works for me then it works for you!
