Let me run along n ask my dad... oh wait... he NEVER beat his wife... or talked to her in a loud voice... or disrespected her... or etc... etc... etc...
NEITHER did any man I know from relatives n friends...
So don't make generalizations... PLUS... watch a bit of Lifetime channel... it'll show u that its not only in the mid-east... it happens all over the world... n its unrelated to religion... its ALSO happening in ur own town...

Why do people make generalizations like this? Do you even know any men from the Middle East? And why do men anywhere in the world beat their women. Give me a break, will ya???

Why do people anywhere beat their spouses?
I would caution you that those who are beaten are not always the innocent peacemakers they would have you believe. I am willing to grant you that 75%to 85% of the wife beaters were provoked in no significant way at all. There is, however, shrewish behavior that badgers and screams for retaliation. When someone feels overcome with emotion, logic and facts often to not win out. Men (and women) can go crazy for a while and then live a lifetime of regret.
The problem comes when families and cultures actually condone such behavior, mascarading as "honor killings." That perverts the very meanings of honor, at least as I know them.

For the same reasons that men all over the world beat their wives. Because they lose control over their fleshly nature and they don't have the Spirit of God to give them the victory.
Galatians 5:17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

That is a ridiculous comment. Have you ever heard the statistics of it in this country or in any other country? And even here in the west where there are shelters and stuff women don't always leave the man and get away.

Because middle eastern men have no respect for women.
That's the answer your looking for, right? But I think those that do beat their wives, do so because they have an inflated belief in their own authority. It's not they don't have any respect for women, it's that their respect for men is soo much higher.

well not ALL do...its just they can get by with it there..but i have a fiance who is american and middle eastern..his mom is american and his dad is from Iran...but he looks like us just darker hair haha he has never ever beat me or hurt me or verbally hurt me..he is more trustworthy too..and his dad and mom are the same way so i think its a cultural thing over there but not so much here..i dunno i still think its wrong no matter where it happens or when.
