I would say NO simply because I think they all contain artificial ingredients........You need the real thing. Meat ,fish, eggs peanut butter are good sources of protein....
That way you get the full benefit of all the vitamins and minerals naturally as opposed to artificially....Then eat fruits and vegetables daily (a few times a day is good ) with every meal.. Whole wheat bread at one meal is also good.
And just watch your intake on everything. Take a daily multiple vitamin and you are good to go! Good luck!

Teens are not considered children but may act like them sometimes. Eating healthy, including protein, fresh veggies, & fruit, work best. Many of the protein drinks are packed full of calories & that's why many older folks drink them, when they're diet is poor. It acts as a supplement. Unfortunately, these supplements are very expensive.

yes, you can use some of the protein formulations like the whey ones
don't get into the additives that are supplements, like creatine
(do your Mom a favor and rinse out the blender with plain water after you use it! just fill with water, put on cover, and blend for five or ten seconds with plain water to rinse it out)

Make your own as in a container of yogert and a banana or berries and some milk and ice. Or throw in some ice cream, strawberries, peaches, etc. Blend and drink. Easy and yummy.
