This is a great verse and gives us the confidence of no matter where we are God is there also. Matthew 18:20 "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

This means the fulness of God is present...I AM there...God the Father, Son & Holy Spirit. That in Gods eyes this is a Church service.
The gathered together is to assembly together. This could also be referred to as a prayer group. To agree together in prayer.
This is spiritual authority multiplied over the forces of darkness who try to destroy us.

Please remember that this is for true believers, reborn through the Holy spirit, not to be used as a jesus genie to get what you want, kind of thing.
If you are not a vessel of mercy, indwelled by the Holy Spirit, used only to relay His own prayer back to Himself, may as well rub a lamp.
