I hear Windows 98 was good, and also 2000. Then of course I heard WinMe was the worst. Does anyone have opinions on which of all Windows Operating Systems is better? Thanks!

Well, I won't comment on the user friendly part of your question, but Vista should be the best of the Windows operating systems because it is the most secure.

I've been programming in Windows for 15 years (since Windows 3.1) and have watched the quality of program code go from bad to idiotic garbage. People think that Win98 is more stable than XP, but the fact is that programming back then was a lot better than it is now (by my standards, it was still bad back then).
The quality of programming gets worse every year. If I went around to all the companies today and evaluated the programmers, about 90% would be out of a job. Most Windows programmers these days couldn't make an efficient program (no matter how simple) to save their lives. The ones who DO know how to program efficiently probably started out with programming in DOS, Windows 3.1, or Windows 95.
Future versions of Windows will look worse than previous ones as the quality of programming continues to get worse.

DOS 5.0
I was happy with 3.11, 98 and 2000 pro. Have all these mentioned and still using on computers, including DOS running my "Space Simulator".
I guess XP is OK, but, it much similar to 2000 except for maybe more security and System Restore.
I using Ubuntu Linux on this computer.
I hear bad of WinMe also. VISTA I still cautious of, and some of the lower end versions may only have 5 years of support.

So far, I think Windows Vista is. I have used all other sorts of operating systems put out by Windows and is the most user-friendly. It also has great graphics. If your computer is not up to the minimum requirements of what Vista needs, then I suggest Windows 2000 because it is a bit like XP, but has all of the classic features of Windows 9x. Although, I will say that in my opinion, the gap between my liking of Vista and 2000 is very large, so I suggest going with Vista.

WinXP service pack 2 has been the most stable Windows OS so far.

Vista is too new, and still has many bugs.

XP, theoretically Service pack 2, But I always liked service pack 1. SP2 game me some weird problems that probably most people don't get (SCSI layers got messed up).
