How much diesel would my mate's 9 seater van use in 60 miles? She's giving me a lift to pick something up and I need to know how much is fair to offer for fuel

Oh come on be generous she's putting herself out but probably does not expect much. So go a little over the top at least £20 and a box of chocs. She will be willing to do it again. Be mean and she will have an excuse. After all how much you you pay to hire a vehicle

Working on 30 miles to the gallon (which could be a bit optimistic for a van), then you'd be looking at 2 gallons or about 10 litres. At about £1 per litre, somewhere in the region of £10 would probably be realistic.

Will the drive be on the motorway or an A road?
Working on mixed driving 1.5 gallons. Offer £7 for fuel and a £3 tip.

I'd say approx 2 gallons, but give her twenty quid.

Half for the fuel, half for her - Or treat her to a Pizza once you've finished.
