I have 3 Flags that have seen better days, My question is- Can I take them to The AF base near my house and they can take care of them? Or if someone knows what to do please let me know.. thanks.

Also you can take them to a VFW instead of the boy scouts they can take them for you as well. You i am really glad that you are trying to do right with this i hate it when people have a flag and let it get all torn and just keep putting it up it really bothers me its like saying your a lazy patriot or something i just don't get it.

smellyfoot is right. The Boy Scouts are happy to take them; both as a public service and as a means of training the scouts in proper respect for the flag.

Yes, you can do that. Park near the gate, walk up to the Security Police who are checking ID cards at the gate, and ask them if they would be willing to take the flags and give them a proper disposal with honors.
It's better to do it that way, than to just throw them away.

Contact the American Legion Post nearest you. They will either properly dispose of these flags themselves or refer you to an organization that will.

I would call the base and ask them what to do. And I want to say: thanks for taking the time to show proper respect to our nations flag.

You can give them to the Boy Scouts. Call your American Legion, they might take them. Or if there is a group of Sojourners, they will take them too.

i like smelly foots idea.... while stationed in cuba, i got to witness a flag retirement ceremony by the boyscouts... its a beautiful thing to see, and it helps teach young men & boys about how important and special our flag is :)

Ever heard of recycling?
Otherwise, if you don't know what to do with these items don't purchase them in the first place.
Don't American flags come with safe to use/disposal instructions?
