find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), weight training a few days a week but never work on the same muscle group two days in a row (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Calories are energy so bear in mind if you exercise frequently then you will not need to cut down on calories significantly. The trick is to look at the amount of fat in the products you consume. Products which contain under 10g of fat are good, but products which contain over that may need another check over, and should probably only be consumed occasionally as a treat etc.
You should be aiming for around 1500-2000kcal a day, but if you are trying to lose weight, increase the amount of exercise you do, and try not to eat under 1200 calories.
Hope this helps!!! x

It depends how many she usually has and how much weight she wants to lose. Make a food diary for about one or two weeks and see what you eat on an average day. Then subtract 100 to 200 calories per day from your diet.

Try eating lots of whole foods, fruits and vegtables...things from nature that are not processed and drinks of water and eat whole wheat bread to help keep you full.

Make sure that your weight lose goals are realistic. 14 year olds should not really be concerned about weight lose unless they are very over weight. I would encourage you to try and be healthy rather than be fixated on a certain number on a scale.

Depending on your height, id say an intake of around 700-1000 per day.Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, mix it in with lots of exercise and lots of water and you should loose weight.Don't loose lots of weight in a short period of time though or your body will start to get messed up.Also be sure NEVER to go below 400 or 500 calories a day otherwise your body will go into starvation mode and will do all it can to stop you loosing weight. Good luck =)

1500 to 1800 per day. Be sure to get at least 60 grams of protein, eat lots of fruits and vegetables, and take calcium and a multivitamin with iron.
