Did anyone else catch this story? A man awoke in the middle of the night to find his house being burgled. He confronted the intruder and backed him towards the bedroom window. The burglar attempted to escape by climbing through the window - and fell. Now the VICTIM - the man whose house it is - has been arrested!

Do you agree that this is absurd? What do those of you from other countries think?!

I dont know about the UK but if it was in the US the burglar would probably turn around and sew the home owner. I have heard of this happening before where someone breaks in and gets hurt and then sews. It's ridiculous...
i guess I could see that they would want to make sure that the person who lived there was telling the truth and didnt just push a visitor out the window, but how often does that happen really??? I dont think they should have arrested him, they should just do an investigation. Poor guy was just trying to defend his home...

This is sheer stupidity. Once again common sense is missing from the equation. This stupidity we see in America and Canada as well. A person breaks into a home with the intent of robbing the home and or raping the women. The crook gets shot and the homeowners get sued.

The legal authorities obviously have a tough time who is the perpetrator or who is the victim. Not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed.

Well thats his story so I guess they need to ascertain what really happened - however, the police love to arrest people, they can't resist wielding the power they have against the innocent and anyone at all really. (I am from the UK)

Apparently the result of circumstantial evidence but once relevant facts are presented before the trial judge, justice should be delivered!

That's the sort of thing you'll get when you're a subject rather than a citizen.
