Global warming is a myth. It is a matter of common sense, not politics. That is not what the politicians would have you believe. Gore is starved for attention. He is using his global warming lies that have been proven wrong many times by science. He wants to plant a tree to pay back global "wrong doings" or send money to whatever organizations - in advance -- to in some way profit himself in one way or another. He's playing the world for a bunch of fools. He won't ever stop as long as people just believe him without thinking for themselves and doing their own research.

I've heard that mars is showing the same warming trend as the earth? So is it global warming?
I have several thoughts on this.
The earth does go through several warming and cooling cycles, but..we have never seen anything as drastic as what we are dealing with now. The result- Polar bears are dying, honey bees are dying, bats, butterflies and thousands of other species...you never know what extinct species in the chain, will unravel everything..I believe in global warming, and I'm doing my part to prevent it- are you? But here's an interesting fact- Mars is also showing the same warming trend as the earth- so who's burning fossil fuels on mars?? Or maybe it is just a normal heating trend we're experiencing?

Here's an interesting article: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article1720024.ece

I would say that yes there is no real proof global warming is happening, yes things are changing but the reason why is still not proven.
However why not change the way we live stopping pollution cant be a bad thing no matter if global warming is true or not.
So why are we all arguing about global warming? who cares if its true treat it like it is and if its not then we're still better off why fight to prevent good?

You are absolutely correct. Trying to turn an important issue that affects everyone on the planet into a partisan issue is shameful. It's a pretty transparent attempt to justify greed, and the destruction of what little remains of our earth. It's the same justification being used to justify continuing the war in Iraq. "You're just not a patriot if you don't agree with us."

I remember a Supreme Court Justice's comment about the tactic, which he described as "The last refuge of scoundrels."

Not true, any person in the world can look around them and think back 15 or 20 years and notice changes that have happened since how it used to be. It's a FACT that global warming in happening, anyone can see it too. The republicans just know they are f'd for the next election so they are pulling out anything they can think of to make them look better.

False. Thoughtful Republicans also know global warming is real, and mostly caused by us.

"Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich challenged fellow conservatives to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming"

"Pat Robertson (very conservative Christian leader) 'It is getting hotter and the ice caps are melting and there is a build up of carbon dioxide in the air. We really need to do something on fossil fuels.”

Ford Motor Company CEO William Clay Ford, Jr. "I believe there is now more than enough evidence of climate change to warrant an immediate and comprehensive - but considered - response. Anyone who disagrees is, in my view, still in denial."

"The science of global warming is clear. We know enough to act now. We must act now."

James Rogers, CEO of Charlotte-based Duke Energy.

"Global warming is real, now, and it must be addressed."

Lee Scott, CEO, Wal-Mart Company

"Republican governors team up against global warming"

"the overwhelming number of scientists now believe that there is significant human cause,'' Giuliani said, adding the debate on the existence of global warming "is almost unnecessary ... ''

http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/02/13/GIULIANI.TMP

(from Republicans for Environmental Protection) "The consensus of almost all climate scientists is that global warming is already happening, that human actions are causing it, and that it will cause major problems for our planet."

"National Review published a cover story this past week calling on conservatives to shake off denial and get into the climate policy debate"

I was a young adult back in the 60s and the cars didn't have emission controls or computers and we used leaded gas..The 70s came a long and people started complaining about the pollution and smog and claimed that it was contributing to at that time it was global cooling so they started putting catalytic converters on cars to reduce exhaust emissions..They kept progressing and added computers on cars..To my knowledge we are on the only country that have emmisions on cars..people will blast me for what I say but me and my friends all lived through it..people who argue against me only receive their knowledge from history books

I am not Republican or Democrat and I don't believe the global warming is manmade hooplah either

Can you tell us where you "heard it". Republicans are against the idea of MAN MADE global warming. We all know the earth is warmer, and that the earth cools. This has happened through out the history of the earth. Twenty years ago it was a new ice age that was going to kill us all. It is the chicken little syndrome.......
