At one time, all men had knowledge of the One True God; but because of sin and rebellion men have drifted far from God and invented many false gods and religions according to their own imaginations.

"We know that an idol is nothing at all in the world and that there is no God but one. For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"), yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.
But not everyone knows this."

I Corinthians 8:4-7

"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. 'For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.'
"Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by man's design and skill. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead."

"if there is ONE god why are there several other gods that other cultures believe in"

Just because some people call something a god doesn't make it so, any more than calling a stone an "egg" makes it an egg.

"why is there several religions out there?"

Because God gave humans free will, which they can then misuse to believe about God whatever they want. Some are even irrational enough to deny His existence. ;O)

Because there is only one true God, the rest are false gods. The God of the Christians is not the same as the god of the muslims and the buddhists as some people claim.

God bless you Alex. God knows you are searching for him and he will reveal himself to you, be ready, keep praying. He did me!

There is one God. There is a being called Satan who is the great deceiver. He like a roaring lion who deceives the world. He is the one that has created other gods, notice the small g.
These gods are not real.

You will never satisfy the one and only God. God is sinless, how can you satisfy him when you have sin? God hates sin and can't be in sin's presence. The bible says, "All sin and fall short of the glory of God." God is a just God. Would you let a man go free without punishment if he killed your child? There had to be a payment, a punishment, a sacrifice.

BUT, God also loves us. God loves YOU. He sent his son to take this punishment so you wouldn't have to. Jesus was sinless and died on the cross for you. He took the punishment for your sins. If you've ever lied, cheated, lusted then you are a sinner. As I am.
When one is a follower of Jesus his sacrifice covers your sins. And when you die God only sees his son ON you. Covering you. Sinless.

There is only one God,The Bible clearly states that in the old testament. Read the Holy Bible it will tell you what satisfies God.
Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me

Exodus 23:24 Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.

Read all of exodus 32 to see how the other gods got started.

You're not alone. A lot of people are confused in our day. Why are there so many people who believe in God in so many different ways? I admire your strength in searching for what is right. You can be deceived by the world. Pray to God that you may be able to discern truth from error.

There is Only One God, all the major Religions of the world teach that.

'To every nation was send a Book' (The Quran)

God had send messengers to every nation, they taught the same message, 'worship non but One God' they were given books and laws these books were not preserved by God niether was their message. There was no need to preserve them as their message was only for their people.

Many of the books exist today, but they are corrupted by human hands, thus they are not compatible with modern day science. But people still follow some of them, dispite of their clash with the modern science.

Many people reject the existence of God, because they see that the people around them are worshipping Gods which have human qualities, people with logical reasoning and scientific approach tend to reject such images of God.

The description of God given in the Quran is the touchstone of theology. 'Say, He is God One and Only, He begets not nor is He begotten, and there is nothing like unto Him'. Any God which passes the test of this chapter of the Quran, the Muslims have no problem in accepting Him as One true God, because the last test of this chapter is so tough that no other than God can pass it. 'There is non like unto Him' the moment you can compare God to anything He is not God.

The Quran is the last and final revelation of God, which confirms the scriptures send before it, it confirms the Gospel of Jesus, the Taurah, the Psalms were books send by God. These Books were meant for the people they were send to. Jesus says in the Bible

'I have not been send but to the lost sheep of Israel' Matthew 15:24

The Quran clearly states that if it was not from God it would have had many contradictions. Many people have tried to find contradictions in it, but failed, many even accepted the truth. It consists more than 1000 verses on science itself and not even 0.01% of it has been proven wrong by modern day science. Islam is the fastest growing religion today in the world, and this is because it has the solutions to mankind, it not only shows what is good, but practically demonstrates how to implement that which is right.

There are many misconceptions regarding Islam today in the minds of non-muslims and muslims alike, thanks to the media. Islam is a religion of peace, it gave equal rights to women more than 1400 years ago, when women where considered souless by great scholars of other religions. It demands justice for every living being.

In my opinion, Muslims, Christians and Jews all share the same God- all others are man made. Religion is the fruit of man's search for God.

Hey, there a lot of gods. But I believe in the one who answers me. He hears me and answers me.
Religion: the thing you pay attention. You are religious about going to work, eating, paying your cell phone bill. You can worship anything...your spouse, your child, your car, your favorite movie star. I've researched a lot of religions. There are some strange things going on in the name of religion.
I do know that the one I feel is me, is Christianity, believing in Jesus Christ. It had the answers for me...and He answers my prayers to him. And I don't have to pray to him 3, 6, 9 times a day either.

Here is what I believe: God has many faces. God is both female and male in a sense--All of the names of every goddess/god traces down to one single God. But, that is only my belief.
