This depends a little on your age, but more on what you mean by deteriorating. If your vision is really getting worse every day, then you need to see an eye doctor as soon as possible. If you mean your vision is slowly getting worse then call and try to get an appointment next week.
Your vision changes as you age, but there are a lot of eye diseases or conditions that can slowly decrease your vision. Many of these can be cured, or slowed, or stopped with proper treatment.
The long and short of it is you need to see and eye doctor.

There are methods for improving the vision without using glasses. And then there are many medical doctors who can help you with medicines, surgery, laser etc. So, pl. consult a health professional and if it is just a vision defect correctable through lenses, think of the other methods first mentioned. Email me for more details.

Goodness I hope not. I read so much everyday that I would go blind. I do know that reading things in the dark and also tiny print when you're straining your eyes can be cause of deterioration.

Don't spend too much time on stuff that strain your eyes - small handwriting, television, computer, and so on. Go take more walks in the park and look at the leaves of the trees. Green sooth your eyes anyways.
Hope this helps!

If you are above 40, then you must make a spec that is suitable for your eyesight. This must be due to old age.
If you are still young, then you better go and see a doctor to find out what is happening to your eyes.
Don't delay.
